By excessive usage of instruments Fortitude targets the main core of the Heavy sound since the Gojira band is widely known as an aggressive music performer. Since the band belongs to death metal, it has evolved into progressive metal that incorporates more complex elements into the music notes of their strains. The natural motifs are used during the confession of band’s personal tensions and, therefore, depicts their goal to create valuable music. In the songs “Born for One Thing” and “Another World,” Gojira show talent at how akin to aggressive sounds can be used in combination with more catchy ones without losing the latter’s musical appeal. All the instruments used in this composition are audible clearly and there is still the common rawness that characterizes Gojira. The title of the album is “Fortitude”, which can act as a doorway to fight internal struggles as well as other struggles. This work reaffirms Gojira’s status as pioneers in modern metal.
