There’s no denying that Girl And Girl’s “Call A Doctor” is a brilliantly eccentric debut, but if “Hear What I Saw” and subsequent singles are anything to go by, then “Call A Doctor” is just the tip of the iceberg. Employing rebellious hooks and commitment to angular melodies, the Brisbane trio opens the door to their universe where laughter and genuity go hand in hand. The first track, “Intro” also gives a dramatic outlook and is connected to a story of a sick patient with mental problems, which of course has a somewhat black humour. Cameo and humor is another factor of Rinse & Repeat since it begins with the upbeat to depressingly serious tone and continues throughout them with such songs as the title song laconically sung by James with the lyrics by Kai. It contributes a theatrical feel and energy that reminds the listener of Parquet Courts, among others.
