The first extended play by Flip Top Head is a booklet called “Up Like A Weather Balloon” – a peculiar album in the genre of art-rock. Given here is a mix of jazz, classical and post-punk attributes with the band originating from Brighton and consisting of six members. The song “I Can’t Wait Until I’m Old” sets the overall tone and features a comic attitude with complex music and fairylike voice of the vocalist Bowie Bartlett. It can shift from more lyrical, calm tunes, to using vocal and bass style in between the verses, giving an interesting experience. It is for this reason that anyone with an interest in the contemporary rock scene will find something to appreciate about this EP given Flip Top Head’s ability to incorporate themes into their songs.
