Slight Light's 'Tunnel Vision' EP: A Melodic Rock Odyssey

Slight Light’s new ‘Tunnel Vision’EP is a showcase of great songwriting and a unique blend of guitars , synths and rhythms that really grab you. Peculiar harmonic voices blend with a lyrical guitar and synthetic sound in a song “At the Door” for which the sensuous male/elegant female vocals come to the spotlight in a pervasive, elegant chorus. The title-track opens an EP with a warm light of’ guitar strums and cheerful voiceless vowels creating an expansive vibe. Nowhere is this true quite like in “You Might” which reminds me much of R.E.M, something augmented by twinkling keys and gentle guitar work to the rather catchy vocal hooks.Much in the same vein, “Get Unstuck” is an excellent example of well supported guitar and synth interplay not to mention the brilliant spacey synth washes that follow the rather pensive verses. As with most of the music here highlighted today, with its catchy embedded hook and polished song construction ‘Tunnel Vision’ further establishes Slight Light as an artist on the rise.
