The first single, “Act Your Age” from Middle Priest is a nice evolution from folk acoustic to full-blown rock, something fans will appreciate greatly. The band from LA creates a feeling of desire with a rhythmic acoustic core and pulls the audience into its layered space. Every time twangy guitars come in have made a track feel alive and full of hype charm, adding to the energy of the whole song. More so, the exciting vocal timbres enhance the song, more so given the nature of the build-up toward the culmination of a song. There is so much passion demonstrated in this debut of delightfully wicked guitar and comical alternative energy. “Act Your Age” isn’t quite just a song; it is the sort of anthem that listeners who are going through the process of growing and figuring out who the are and who they want to be among whatever life throws at them need.
