Gaffer Tape is one from the Naarm/Melbourne band of GLOB and is a perfect representation of the band’s change in direction. As their follow up single, it is full of themes of transition and acceptance, but as always, presented with a sunny disposition. The song starts with short guitar jingle, which takes the listeners to summer, including intimate moments, filled with suave vocals, robust bass and harmony of gentle guitar. The verses are somewhat cooler, but the hook is catchy, so the song has that consistent energy which is great. At two minutes, playful synths enter and contribute to fun and excitement to climax out of the song. ‘Gaffer Tape’ is a fun game of rocks that made an impact for GLOB once again and helped it become a part of indie-rock scene.
